At the present moment when the relations between our
two countries are daily becoming more cordial, it seems necessary
for the Hong Kong Government to give up its original proposal to
order the removal of Kowloon City residents so as to tally with
the spirit of friendliness. As to the original motive of the
Hong Kong Government in ordering the removal of the Kowloon
City residents and the manner in which the Kowloon City district
is to be utilised, I have yet to be informed, and I have the
honour to request that you will kindly transmit the enquiry to
the Hong Kong Government for a reply.
In view of the above, I have the honour to address you
this letter and to request that it may be transmitted to the Hong
Kong Government for attention and the favour of a reply.
I have, etc.,
Philip K.C. Tyau
Special Delegate.
